JOB SUMMARY:    

Responsible for engineering activities including research, drafting, design, computations, data analysis, field inspections, preparation of plans, exhibits, specifications, reports and other project documents.

CHARACTERISTICS:  

  • Develops and applies broad knowledge of principals and skills in a specific practice area
  • Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
  • Collaboratively uses judgment to determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine assignments
  • Works on small to moderate projects or portions of larger projects

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designs a complete project, system, component, or process
  • Prepares complete project documents, including plans and specifications
  • Performs research and investigations
  • Develops reports and study documents
  • Analyzes and interprets data, including design calculations
  • Formulates and solves problems
  • Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the engineering work
  • Prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments
  • Assists with proposals to provide professional services
  • Interacts with clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others
  • Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments
  • Maintains quality assurance standards for projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Registration – Certified Engineer in Training (EIT) or 4 years’ experience at the Assistant Engineer Level
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • AutoCAD and GIS Applications
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Experience Requirement – 4+ years of professional experience (minimum)
