The University of Missouri-Kansas City University Way project involved creating a pedestrian corridor extending from Oak Street to Cherry Street along the alignment of 51st Street. The heavily landscaped entrance utilized two site elevators along with stairs and handicapped accessible ramps to provide a signature entry to the campus. This University Way design had to be carefully coordinated with the major entrance to the new Oak Street student housing project.
What We Did
Taliaferro & Browne provided civil and structural engineering design for the University Way improvements, including site drainage, grading, sanitary sewers for the elevator towers, erosion control and site layout. Structural services included design of the elevator towers and site retaining walls.
