JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for administration of all survey operations, including field and office staff, technical standards, project development and management, quality control program, and general administration.

  • Provides direct support to the firm’s Director of Design Support/Program Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  • Administrator of the organization’s survey department
  • Supervises all survey technicians and surveyors, technical support staff or teams, ensuring projects are completed to high standards, on schedule, and within budget
  • Develops technical standards and guidelines
    • Manages the quality control program for survey projects
  • Assists with development of new business opportunities, technical proposals, and other market-
    ing efforts
  • Assists with recruiting, onboarding, orientation and training of new hires
  • Assists with management of professional development and performance evaluation of staff
  • Assists with marketing
  • Oversees the technical, legal, and financial issues of the survey department
  • Oversees contract development, review and negotiation for projects
  • Determines and monitors objectives, requirements, and resource needs for projects
  • Negotiates critical issues with managers and officers of other organizations and companies
  • Possesses exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Routinely interacts with organization leaders, clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others
  • Initiates and maintains contact with clients, customers, managers, key engineers, officials, and
    contractors from other organizations and companies
  • Conducts presentations and may participate in media interviews
  • Represents his or her organization at important functions or conferences, including media inter-
    views as required


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred BS degree in survey related field from an ABET accredited program
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)
  • Member of professional or technical society
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with survey tools and software
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, communication and managerial skills
  • 15+ years of professional experience
