Linwood YMCA James B. Nutter Community Center

The Linwood YMCA is the renovation of the existing building and construction of new building additions that includes a 7,000 square foot Truman Medical Center Clinic. Upgraded features include a new main entry, multi-purpose studios for exercise and health education, and an indoor/outdoor swimming pool with a retractable glass ceiling and doors. A new parking area for approximately 40 vehicles including two ADA stalls was also constructed.

New segmental block type retaining walls were constructed along the west side of the proposed parking lot due to the elevation change between the proposed lot and the existing YMCA parking lot. A new underground storm water detention system consisting of HDPE pipes were also constructed underneath the new parking lot.

Taliaferro & Browne provided survey, design services for civil site improvements, public streetscape, water, storm and sanitary service connections, and a drainage study.
