JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for coordination and supervision of survey activities for a complete project, including all office and field related activities, research, drafting, computations, and preparation of documents.


CHARACTERISTICS: 
 

  • Provide direct support to the firm’s Survey Manager
  • Independently applies a thorough knowledge of current surveying principles and practices
  • Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
  • Collaboratively uses judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine assignments
  • Works independently on projects with review and approval of the Survey Manager


RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 

  • Coordinate and supervise field and office work for a complete project
  • Prepares complete project documents
  • Performs independent research and investigations
  • Develops reports and legal documents
  • Analyzes and interprets data from multiple sources and resolves discrepancies
  • Identifies and solves problems
  • Assigns tasks to and directs field and office survey staff
  • Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the survey work
  • Prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for survey projects
  • Assists with proposals to provide surveying services
  • Interacts with clients, customers, clients, customers, designers, managers, officials, contractors, and others
  • Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of surveying assignments


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
  • Preferred BS degree in survey-related field from an ABET accredited program
  • Preferred Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT)
  • CPR and First Aid Certifications
  • Preferred member of professional or technical society
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • 6+ years of professional experience (minimum)
