Shoal Creek Parkway
As a part of our roadway experience, Taliaferro & Browne surveyed and designed the new extension of Shoal Creek Parkway from Hodge Park to NE 96th Street. Shoal Creek Parkway is on the City Major Street Plan with a classification of “Parkway/Boulevard.” The newly developed section of Shoal Creek Parkway was constructed to maintain a divided variable width median with independent horizontal and vertical alignments.
Phase I consisted of an approximately 4,500 foot extension of Shoal Creek Parkway from the Shoal Creek Golf Course entrance to NE 96th Street. The project included design of a 4 lane divided Parkway with trail improvements, three conspan drainage structures and a new roundabout at NE 96th Street. A new 30-inch transmission main for the Water Services Department was also designed and constructed as part of the project.
Phase II consisted of an approximately 5,600 foot extension of Shoal Creek Parkway from the new roundabout at NE 96th Street to I-435. The project included design of a 4 lane divided Parkway with trail improvements, a new bridge over the East Fork of Shoal Creek and a new roundabout at N. Eastern Avenue.
